How do you protect the surrounding property during the project? We provide a written promise that your surrounding property will not be damaged during our work, such as your yard, landscaping, and sprinkler heads. If we do happen to damage any part of your yard while working on your driveway, you will be promptly informed and we will take steps to rectify the damage, no matter how small it may be.
What finish do you recommend for driveway concrete? At Lubbock Asphalt Repair, we usually provide a broom finish on our driveways, as it reduces the chance of slipping. The textured finish may not be as attractive as smooth poured concrete, but we recommend it for safety reasons. We can also stain the concrete to a color you prefer if appearance is a priority for you and your family.
What happens if I drive on my newly paved driveway before it finishes curing? We heavily discourage driving on your new pavement for at least a week after it has been poured. The concrete continues to strengthen after it cures, making it an essential part of the whole process. If you drive on the concrete before it has completely cured, you could reduce its surface strength by up to half.
What is the importance of sealing my new driveway? Sealing your driveway every now and then prevents it from absorbing water and harmful chemicals. This makes it easier to clean the surface of your concrete and prevents surface defects. We seal your driveway at the end of the construction process, so you don't have to worry about damaging your new driveway after the one week curing period.
How should I take care of my driveway during the winter? When ice and snow are a possibility, take precautions so winter precipitation doesn't have a chance to accumulate on your driveway. However, you should avoid deicing materials like salt, because their reaction with the moisture from the precipitation can affect the concrete's surface and structure. Instead, try using sand to keep precipitation from remaining on the surface of your driveway.
